Angel Dumott Schunard:
Transvestite street drummer living w/AIDS. Incredible dancer w/magnetic personality. Warm, lovable, nurturing, honest. Seeking actor 18+ to play late teens–early 20s. High Tenor w/great falsetto C3-A4.

Benjamin Coffin III:
Landlord of Mark & Roger's building. Went to college w/Mark. Married into wealthy family. Hopes to fulfill dream of building an arts studio for his friends while making money for his father in law. Mid-late 20s. Baritone Eb3-F4.

Joanne Jefferson:
Harvard grad, lawyer. Affluent upbringing, dry wit, Maureen’s lover. Late 20s, early 30s. Pop Belt Bb3-E5 (Alto).

Mark Cohen:
Filmmaker/video artist, determined to capture "real" life on film. Roger's roommate. Mid-late 20s. Baritone/second tenor C#3-G4 (Tenor).

Maureen Johnson:
Performance artist; Mark's ex-girlfriend. Joanne’s lover. Must move well. Mid-late 20s. Big vocal range C4-F5 (Soprano Belt).

Mimi Marquez:
Dancer w/AIDS and a drug problem. Desperate for a place to feel safe & protected. Must dance well. Character is age 19. Raw voice – high belt F#3-E5 (Alto)

Roger Davis:
Edgy, struggling musician. HIV+. Recovering drug addict. Hopes to write 1 last meaningful song before he dies. Playing guitar a +. Early-mid 20s. Rock Tenor B2-A4 (Tenor).

Tom Collins:
HIV+ computer genius; recently returned to NY after an absence. Deep capacity for love & understanding. Must move well. Late 20s, early 30s. Baritenor F#2-A4. There is only one high A (A4) for this character. It is of short duration.
