POSITION: Resident Casting Director
DESCRIPTION: The Shakespeare Theatre Company, an established LORT B+ theatre in Washington, D.C. seeks an in-house Casting Director. The Resident Casting Director will coordinate local casting for all mainstage shows, readings, special events, and developmental workshops. Along with production-specific casting, the Resident Casting Director will hold general auditions, attend local productions, and maintain the theater’s casting files. The casting director will also coordinate New York casting in collaboration with the theatre’s Associate Director and New York Casting Directors. Other administrative responsibilities will include negotiating offers with agents and maintaining the Actor Budget. The successful candidate will have at least three years of casting experience and an excellent eye for talent. Knowledge of classical theatre and/or local acting talent is a plus. This is a full-time, year-round position, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. The Resident Casting Director will be expected to live in Washington DC.
