POSITION TITLE: Staff Accountant

DESCRIPTION: Blue Man Productions, the parent company of the theatrical production Blue Man Group, is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant. This position reports to the Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a great team and work for a collaborative and fun entertainment organization!

The Staff Accountant will handle a full range of responsibilities including: quarter and month-end closings, reconciling subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, rolling forward accounts, maintaining prepaid reconciliation, analyzing and updating accrual accounts, reconciling intercompany accounts, and preparing elimination entries, developing and administering a fixed asset subsystem, cash management, wire transfers, audit preparation and support, assisting in the preparation of annual report financial statements and footnotes, analyzing transactions, contracts and new business ventures to ensure that accounting treatments are in compliance with GAAP, financially oriented projects and other duties as assigned.

To be considered for this role, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and a Bachelors degree in Accounting, with a strong preference for a CPA. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software (Great Plains preferred), a strong knowledge of monthly closing and consolidation procedures. S/he should be a very organized and motivated self-starter, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
