The Sunday Giveaway: Two tickets to Invisible Thread at Second Stage!

There have been a lot of eyes on Invisible Thread for years.

And why not?  Originally titled Witness Uganda, this show was taken under the directorial wing of hit-maker Diane Paulus, nurtured to life at her incredible incubator of a regional theatre, ART, and now has come to New York via Second Stage.

The story of IT is based on the true tale of the Author, who left NYC to volunteer for a charity in Africa (no, this is not The Book of Mormon), and “when his altruistic aspirations collide with the real world, his life is changed in unexpected and profound ways.”

Word on the street is that a pretty powerful Broadway Producer is enhancing that Second Stage run, so this could be one of those chances for you to say, “I was one of the lucky ones who saw it Off Broadway first.” (I’m always jealous of the people who can say that about Rent/Spring Awakening/A Chorus Line, etc.)

And one of you is going to see it for free!  Because that’s what we do here on Sundays at The Producer’s Perspective.  We make people’s theatergoing dreams come true.

Here’s how you win:

Titles are one of the most important marketing tools a Broadway show has.  And during the developmental process, shows don’t change their titles often enough.  Obviously Invisible Thread did.

There have been some other famous titles that have changed . . . West Side Story was East Side Story.  Hamilton was Hamilton Mix-Tape.

So let’s have some fun.

Give me the title of any musical, then make up a “working title” that got nixed somewhere along the way.  For example, The Phantom of the Opera . . . The Creepy Guy in a Mask.

Now, you can obviously do much better than that.

You can choose any musical you want . . . Kinky Boots, Spring Awakening . . . whatever.

Just pick a title, and then make up an earlier title, and you can win two tickets to see Invisible Thread at Second Stage!
