Forceful, brutish, funny and even charming, but also has a streak of violence in him. Edgar: Man, 30s-40s. Urbane, ultra-sensitive, well-meaning and educated. Tries hard to be tolerant, even liberal, in his thinking. Feels strongly about loyalty and friendship. Sometimes weak.Lucinda: Woman, 30s-40s. Upper-class values. Attractive, intellectually sharp, but often intolerant. Sometimes vulnerable, even wounded, and it forces her to be brittle and defensive. Talks too much. Carol: Woman, 30s. New girlfriend of Fred’s; slightly younger than the rest. Warm-hearted, ripe, voluptuous brunette with an innate sexuality that she doesn’t have to work at. Dumb like a fox.
