WHO: Portland Stage Company (ME)

SEEKING: Actors for "The 39 Steps"

Richard Hannay- (30-40 male) A dashing British aristocrat who find himself unexpectedly at the center of a murder investigation and spy story. Confident, yet continually caught off guard, Hannay carries the audience thorugh the play. In scenes such as Hannay's fall from the bridge, movement becomes essential to understanding story. Actor must be able use his body to convey what is happening in the text. British accent is essential.

Annabella Schmidt/Margaret/Pamel- (late 20s-40) The girl of Hannay's dreams. Actor plays multiple women from the glamous sophisticated German spy Schmidt to the wife of a Scottish Crofter. German, Scottish and Bristish accents are essential.

WHEN: 1st rehearsal: 9/7/10. Runs: 10/1 – 10/24

PAY: LORT D; $555/week minimum
