Broadway Grosses w/e 1/25/2026

Broadway took a notable hit this week, with total grosses falling 13.68% to $29.95M and attendance dropping sharply to 250,682, as a winter snowstorm forced 13 cancelled performances across 10 shows on Sunday. Despite the disruption, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child once again led Broadway with $2.12M, even after cancelling a Sunday performance. Hamilton followed with $1.95M, maintaining over 100% capacity, while Wicked delivered $1.79M and nearly sold out the Gershwin. Among the strongest musical earners, Chess grossed $1.41M, Mamma Mia! posted $1.43M (also impacted by a cancellation), and The Lion King finished at $1.16M after losing two weekend performances.
Several titles showed underlying strength despite the weather-related setbacks. Just in Time posted one of the week’s most striking reversals, increasing $849K from last week’s frame to $1.4M with an exceptionally high $248 average ticket. Stranger Things: The First Shadow remained a top play at $1.31M, even after cancelling a Sunday show, while Oh, Mary! held near-full capacity with $989K. Compared to the same week last season—when MLK weekend fell within the frame—grosses were down 10.25%, underscoring how calendar shifts and extreme weather, rather than demand, drove this week’s decline as Broadway heads deeper into the winter stretch.
