Broadway Grosses w/e 12/7/2025

Broadway cooled off after Thanksgiving, with total grosses down 11.85% from the holiday week to $42,629,351 and attendance slipping to 291,637 (overall capacity 89.15%). Leading the board for the first time was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which topped the week at $2,939,627 (average paid admission $226.54) — outgrossing both Hamilton ($2,745,993, avg $258.96) and Wicked ($2,700,183, avg $175.25). Family and long-running favorites remained strong despite the pullback: The Lion King grossed $2,410,203, Aladdin was $1,447,385, and Mamma Mia! held at $1,871,456.Newer hits and recent openers showed resilience in the post-holiday week. Chess again performed well at $1,955,707, Ragtime posted $1,269,532, and Maybe Happy Ending returned to premium pricing with $1,229,035. Among plays, Art remained a solid non-musical draw at $1,594,034, and Waiting for Godot held near full houses with $1,313,436. Compared with the same frame last season (noting the shifting holiday calendar), grosses were down 7.42%, but the market looks properly positioned for the December uptick.You can find the rest of the figures below, courtesy of The Broadway League:
