[Live Masterclass] What You Should Know About Broadway Investing

When I crowdfunded Godspell 13 years ago, I was testing a thesis.  I believed there were a lot of people out there interested in investing in Broadway shows.  They just didn’t know how to start.

Based on the number of people who raised their hand expressing interest in investing in Godspell when the news broke, that thesis was correct.

I spoke to a lot of folks about investing in Broadway back then.  And they had a lot of questions.  How do you get started investing?  How does the cash flow back to Broadway Investors?  What if I didn’t want to be a Broadway Investor, but wanted to produce instead?

And one potential investor said to me, “Is there a book on Broadway investing I can read?”

I paused.  And realized there wasn’t one.  So I wrote one.  It’s called Broadway Investing 101, and it became a bestseller on Amazon.com.

Just last week, someone bought it, and emailed me with more questions.  Which reminded me of a very popular seminar I hosted prior to the pandemic called . . . yep . . . Broadway Investing 101 (NY Mag even did an article about it).

I haven’t done it in years.  But since I’ve been getting more questions about Broadway investing lately, I thought . . . maybe . . . I should do it again.

So we’re doing it again!

But this time – virtually.

On Wednesday, August 28th at 5pm ET/2pm PT, I’m leading a live masterclass called Broadway Investing 101.

You’ll learn:

  • The myths of Broadway Investing
  • How to get started investing (who to talk to, how much you need, and more)
  • How to mitigate the risks of investing for you (and your investors)
  • The perks you should get for investing (and what you should offer to investors)
  • The questions you should ask (that most investors don’t)

It’s ideal for anyone who has ever thought about investing in Broadway shows –  or even those who have invested in Broadway before but want a little more info on the subject (especially since Broadway investing has changed a lot over the last several years.)

But get this . . .

Sometimes you make something and people use it for something else.

Listerine, the mouthwash, was a surgical antiseptic, before you gargled with it.

Play-doh? That was a wallpaper cleaner before your toddler played with it.

I wrote the book, Broadway Investing 101, for people curious about investing in Broadway shows (And for those people who were doing it, but wanted to know a wee bit more about it!).

But in the last month alone, I had three people tell me that the book not only told them what they wanted to know about investing . . . but that it helped them raise money for their own shows.

It taught them to understand how the process works, which made them more comfortable pitching their own shows.

So whichever side of the Broadway investing equation you’re on – I think you’ll enjoy this updated seminar.

Sign up here.  And we’ll see you on 8/28.
