POSITION: Production Management Fellow

DESCRIPTION: Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT FELLOW to join its Production Management team. Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre Company exists to honor and celebrate the playwright, producing seven to nine productions annually; and, in 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. Signature recently opened the Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

While at Signature, fellows gain both practical experience and professional contacts. In addition, fellows gain insight into the operations of a professional, non-profit theatre company through special projects and regularly scheduled seminars, led by guest speakers and members of Signature’s senior staff.

The Production Management Fellow reports to the Director of Production.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Assisting in the budgeting, scheduling, planning, coordination, and execution of the technical elements of productions
•Providing support, as needed, to facilitate logistics and technical needs for rehearsals and performances
•Attending rehearsals and performances, as needed
•Providing general support across the Production Department and Signature Theatre

Candidates should have excellent written, communication, and organizational skills, must be computer and Internet savvy, and must be able to work independently. A well-rounded technical theatre/stage management background is preferred.
