The Finalists for the Macbeth Associate Producer Scholarship are . . .
Remember that time I said we’d have 10 Finalists for the Macbeth Associate Producer Scholarship?
Well, because we received an inbox-clogging several hundred applications, I’m modifying the rules (hey – I made them up, so I can change them right?)
Instead of 10 . . . we’re going to have 12.
And let me tell you something, whittling those 4 score and more admissions down to just 12 was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in some time.
But it was also one of the most thrilling . . .. because I read every one, and it was such an incredible reminder of how many super passionate and super smart people out there want to make great theater.
Ok, before I get all verklempt, here are the 12 Finalists in alpha order:
Samantha Sazant
If your name is listed above, you will soon receive an email with instructions about the group interview stage of our process. And congratulations.
If your name is not listed above, please go out and produce something awesome so that you can see me at an opening night party and rub it in my face that you weren’t selected and now you’re worth a billion dollars and have umpteen Tony Awards and are telling me all that while texting George Clooney and the First Lady.
Oh, and keep reading the blog . . . because this is a pilot Associate Producer program. And if this pilot flies well (and why shouldn’t it?), I have a feeling I’m going to do it again.
And soon.
Congratulations to the Top 12!
