Broadway Grosses w/e 8/3/2025
Broadway saw a modest dip this week, with total grosses down 4.81% from the previous week. While no major closings impacted the charts, the seasonal ebb and flow of late summer tourism appears to be softening the market. Several top-grossers held their ground—Wicked, The Lion King, and Hamilton all remained over the $2M mark—but most shows saw slight declines. On the upswing was Death Becomes Her, which posted the largest increase of the week, up $142,063 to $1.39M, continuing to defy summer trends with near-capacity attendance.Mamma Mia! launched previews at the Winter Garden with a strong showing—$261,796 from a single performance, selling out at a $173 average ticket. The million-dollar club remains healthy, with last season’s Just In Time, Maybe Happy Ending, and Buena Vista Social Club holding strong despite slight dips. Overall, the numbers suggest a typical early August cooling, with plenty of momentum still in play as new fall offerings prepare to enter the mix.You can find the rest of the figures below, courtesy of The Broadway League:
